We as a culture consume a lot of meat and this means there’s a lot of blood behind the scenes which we don’t see.
Not surprisingly that blood would have been down the drain previously, but Jack Munro, a British architect has been working to develop a method of turning cow’s blood into bricks.
The blood is mixed with sand, water, and an antibacterial solution then pressed into bricks. Blood’s natural coagulants cause it to harden into a rock solid brick.
The bricks are also relatively water proof and require less water to produce than traditional bricks so they could be ideal for remote developing world locations with little available water.
I personally can’t see this becoming an idea that takes off… but I must commend Mr. Munro on thinking outside of the box, even if it is a little creepy
